Who are we ?
In July 1984, Jean Michel Icard creates a "small business" of transporting food between Marseille and the island of Frioul.
"Lou Gabian," old fishing boat typical of Marseille, was the first ship of the fleet Icard Maritime. A few months later, the acquisition of the trawler « Vaillant » , helps to diversify transport and "participate" in the restoration of the chateau d'If.
The club « Les Plaisirs de la Mer » was born in 1987 in collaboration with the store Vieux Plongeur. Since then, Icard Maritime carries divers all over the coastline. Then the fleet has grown with the arrival of « Revelatta 1 », and in 1997 Icard Maritime develops transport of passengers.
In 2000, GIE Marseille Côté Mer born at the dock Marcel Pagnol. It includes 8 partners installed on the Vieux-Port, with Icard Maritime. Since 2004, MPM entrusts our company management and transport of ECUM, official ferry for Frioul island.
The « Chourmo », speedboat acquired in 2005 increases the capacity of passengers and it helps ensure all-weather delicate landings embarkations on the island of If. A year later, the circuits' discovery of Calanques (lien circuits) and the bay of Marseille (lien circuits) departing from the main quayside of the Vieux-Port (lien sur plan embarquement) are implemented with the participation of the Tourist Office of Marseilles. Following this initiative, Icard Maritime won the tender launched by the Office of Tourism and MPM, and becomes one of privileged participants of maritime tourism.
The speedy boat « L'Aiglon 3 » is specially dedicated to walking at sea Its optimum capacity, speed, comfort and its easy integration into the marine protected landscape, make an asset for the discovery of creeks from Marseille to Cassis. It is in that spirit of environmental protection and respect for the customer that we develop all our circuits. Our quality charter (link charter) demonstrates our desire to offer the best to our customers.
Indeed, the public is one of the most important criteria in our view, and we would like to make it an exemplary quality. People of Marseille and tourists discover or rediscover Marseille's coastline with us ... and a real pleasure!
Thus, through the work of shipping, the "small business" employs today about twenty sailors and ticketing staff, and then Icard Maritime is one of the main participant of economic development and tourism in Marseille.
